The Birth of
Alternative
Arts
Academy
by Jill Semonin Ph.D.-
C.M.H.
Taking
cosmetology
classes
in
high
school
had
more
benefits
than
I
ever
imagined.
Talk
about
thorough
-we
had
1500
hrs
of
classroom
time.
It
wasn't
all
about
hair
either,
it
was
about
skin
anatomy,
disorders
and
diseases of the skin,
sanitation
and
sterilization,
it
was
quite
frightening
to
find
out
everything
we
had
to
learn.
Little
did
I
know
how
much
all
this
would
come
in
handy
later.
So
glad
I
stuck
it
out
I
have
been
a
licensed
Cosmetologist
since
1984.
I opened Permanent
Beauty, Inc. in
1993 as a Permanent
Cosmetic Corporation
after taking a class
from a company called
Lasting Lines of
Dallas Texas. During
this time, I owned a
beauty salon, but was
unable to continue,
due to allergic
reaction to chemicals
in the salon
environment. So I
decided to open
Permanent Beauty, Inc.
with intention of
doing Permanent
Make-up. However;
during this time, Ohio
laws came into effect
and it made no
difference in cost to
use the license for
more than just
cosmetic tattooing.
Since
all my friends wanted
more than cosmetics,
and I was constantly turning
down more work, I
decided to travel
to
Alabama,
where
my
best
friend's
husband
was
a
well
known
tattoo
artist. (I guess I was
lucky that I had
connections).
His
shop
was
called
Buzzard
and
Son's.
Buzzard
(Charles)
then
taught
me
all
requirements
of
tattooing
and
body
piercing.
Adding
these
were not hard at all,
just
a
bonus because the
license covered it
all.
My college education
background:
The University of
Metaphysical Sciences,
I
earned a BA, MA and
PhD in Philosophy of
Metaphysical Sciences.
I have a Practitioner
Certification and am
an ordained Reverend
for "Spiritual
Ministries". I am a Certified
Master Hypnotist and
an Honors Graduate of
Hypnosis
Motivation
Institute. As a
hypnotist, I can
create changes in the
mind for positive
change. I am
also
Certified in Past
Life
Regression Therapy
with The American
Hypnosis Association,
and offer help
with those who need
help with smoking,
weight control, fears
/ phobia's, self esteem,
procrastination and more.
Feel free to check out
my hypnotherapy site
Beautiful Minds
Hypnotherapy.
I am finding that
and using spiritual
healing and/or hypnosis,
can be used to
significantly help
others to take a more
holistic natural
approach to many
problems. It's amazing
how one can solve
problems with out
drugs that may have nasty side
effects from
un-natural science
based chemicals and
toxins that hurt more
than help. However,
this is NEVER to
replace the advice of
a health care
physician, just added
boost to promote a
healthier way of life,
with alternative
solutions that have
been proven to work.
My
Additional schooling:
I
graduated with honors
from ITT-Technical
Institute with
an AAS
in
Electrical
Engineering.
I
learned
College
Physics
I &
II,
along
with
all
the
other
great
classes
with
in
the
engineering
field.
This
was to
better
understand our
physical world along
with
the
paranormal. We
are
all
made
from
energy
called "Universal
Life
Force",
which
is
invisible,
but
it's
there.
So
you
see, it's all connected-
Science,
Physics
and
Metaphysics are
very
much
starting
to
come
together
and
make
sense. Quantum
Physics is the closest
that comes to
explaining this type
of field.
UPDATE:
I am currently
enrolled as a full
time student at
Liberty University
for Masters in Arts of
Professional
Counseling. I am
retiring the tattooing
business completely by
the end of 2008. I
will be referring my
clients to another
trusted artist in the
Permanent Cosmetic field
that is trained by me.
I plan on being able
to utilize
professional
counseling with my
current Hypnotherapy
practice. It's always
been one of my dreams,
and I finally did it.
Thank you to all my
previous clients with
Alternative Arts
Academy, I did enjoy
this business and all
you fine folks. I
found my desire is
psychology and
hypnosis the hard way.
It's always been a
dream I thought I
could not achieve and
I was wrong. It's my
fate to go into this
field, for I was
pretty much forced to
make a change.
For those of you who
know me well, then you
already know that I
was diagnosed with
having ET (essential
tremors) in my right
arm and hand. This is
not something that
gets better with time,
but instead gets
worse. I had no choice
but to change careers
before it gets bad
enough that I cannot
do a good job. I
refuse to take chances
and wait till it gets
to that point that I
cannot keep my hand
steady, so I have
already made the
change now to avoid
any problems in the
future. Right now it's
not that bad, but
enough that I notice
it. Unfortunately,
steady hands is needed
in the field with any
kind of tattooing. The
hypnosis field is very
rewarding too and
steady hands are not
needed.
It's time like this,
that one can only
say... "looks like I
had no choice", I call
it FATE. The good
thing is, I am not
upset about the
change. I happen to
LOVE my new career
just as much as I
loved doing permanent
cosmetics. I feel
blessed.
